Tammy’s Story – 1.27.07.
August 18, 2007
This is the story from the second time I met John Cena. It was once again at The Washington Auto Show, exactly one year later, January 27th, 2007.
Well, the big downfall was that it was rushed. 1 thing per person, no posed photographs. But aside from that, it turned out to be much better than the first time. I wasn’t shy. I walked right up to him and spoke to him.
For those who don’t know, I made a scrapbook for him. I worked really hard on it though. There were various things in there, such as letters, graphics, and the picture of us from the year before. I wanted to make something special. I know I’m not the first or last to do something like that, but I still wanted to do that for him.
Here’s pretty much what happened. This might not be exactly word for word, but it’s close enough.
[I walk up & shake his hand.]
Tammy: Hey, John…
John: [He greeted me, but I was still talking lol.]
Tammy: I made this for you.
[I gave him the book].
John: Oh what is this?”
Tammy: It’s like a scrapbook.
John: Oh I love that kind of stuff! Thank you!
[He signed my magazine.]
Tammy: Can I have a hug?
John: Sure!
[So he leans over the table & hugs me, & as he does he goes...]
John: Thank you for the book.
Tammy: You’re welcome.
Then I walked away. I was bummed over not getting a picture with him, but at the same time, I was [and still am] proud. It was a short conversation, but atleast I talked to him without being nervous. I can be very shy, so that’s a big deal to me. I think if I meet him again I’ll be just fine. ![]()
Tammy’s Encounter – 1.27.06.
August 18, 2007
This story is from the first time I ever met John Cena, which was at the Washington Auto Show on January 27th, 2006.
My friend & I were up at 6:30am, left at 7am. When we got there, we found out we could pay $1.35 to take the Metro right there. So we decided to do that. But since it came every 6 minutes & it was only 9:30ish, we decided to eat & look around the Union Station [it had stores & all] for awhile. So then we found out that John was going to actually be there from 4-6 rather than 2-4, so we had to find a way to kill time. Around 1:30 we got in line. There was already a line, and despite people butting & such later, we still had a good spot. We chatted with the people in front & in back of us. I ended up seeing a few people I knew, including another friend of mine who stood in line with us.
A few minutes after 4, I had my phone turned off & my camera turned on! Someone said “I see him!” and about a minute later…THERE WAS JOHN CENA! I screamed & jumped up & down like a dork…but I don’t care! I was so happy! I got quite a few good pictures of him!
So anyways, this lady was swearing her son was in line ahead of us. He looked familiar but I didn’t care. I turned to my friends & the people behind us and told them “I’m letting him go. It’s just one kid!”…we were RIGHT THERE so we would’ve met him. So we let him go [his Mom found me later & thanked me again]. Then it hit me “Oh shit…we’re next!”.
So our turn finally comes. The friend I came to the signing with goes first goes “My friend loves you, she’s right behind me”…so he looked at me & starts smiling. We once heard online that he blushes if you bring up the thong Wordlife DVD incident, so my friend decided to see if it was true [it was all in fun]. So she mentions it & told him he had a nice ass. He started laughing & blushing. He said stuff but I can’t remember what. So then it’s my turn to talk to him. I was like “I’m really nervous right now”. He’s like “Don’t even be nervous, I’m already embarrassed!” lol. I think one of us said something else but my mind draws a blank. So then he holds out his arm and [nicely] says “Come here”, so I walked over, put my arm around him & he had his around me. We took the picture. I leaned up on him. I didn’t really mean to. I don’t think he cared though lol. As little as I am, he probably didn’t realize it. He’s huge, btw lol. But don’t be intimidated if you meet him…he is SO SWEET. Anyways, I gave him the two pins [Star Wars & Family Guy] & a letter and told him those were for him. He’s like “These are all for me?!” & I told him yes & he thanked me.
Okay, it doesn’t end there. My friend was talking to the security guard [he was near our age]. The friend who met up with us & I stood on the side taking pictures. We were standing right at the front, behind a rope, so we got good pix. So I told her in the middle of the fans [we didn’t wanna interupt anyone] lets say bye to John before we leave. So she did & then I did [a few seconds apart]. I yelled “Bye, John!” & he looked up. I waved at him, and he smiled and gave the Peace sign. I really wish I had gotten a pic of that, because damn was it cute. LOL. I was so happy. For some reason, that made my day more than anything. Then my yelled something [I think it was "Beat an ass"; he had a match that weekend] & he was cracking up. It was a lot of fun. If he comes near you, I strongly suggest going to meet him, because he’s a really sweet guy.
Tammy’s Event Stories – 2.22.05 + 11.20.06.
August 18, 2007
With the lack of updates, I figured I’d share my own stories. I’ll start with the first time I ever saw John Cena live, which was at a Smackdown house show on Feb. 21st, 2005.
I’ll only share John’s match. I’m going to just copy & paste this from when I posted it in my journal back then [slightly edited].
I thought this would be later so this next match took me by surprise. The announcer said that this match was for the U.S. Title. I went “OH MY GOD!” [I said I was shocked lol]. And out came the man I came to see…JOHN CENA. I went bonkers! LOL. So he goes in there and the mic was on the mat. Everytime the announcer, ref, or some other guy would try to pick it up, you’d hear a farting sound lol. Finally, the announcer quickly picked it up and handed it to John. John goes “You stink…you smell…you both suck!” lol. He worked the crowd of course. He told Rene if he wanted some to… [and this is the part where we joined in] COME GET SOME! So that was great. John won.
Fan moments: When he came out he threw his hat + shirt to the crowd. After the match, he gave some little boy his chain and some fans near the entrance his wristbands and armbands. The people who got the bands were near the place I sat at last years Road To Wrestlemania Raw House Show [where I slapped HBK's hand].
The night rocked & I had a great time seeing everyone live, especially John!
I also saw John live at the November 20th, 2006 edition of Raw. I don’t have any other stories aside from that. It was a week before Survivor Series. It was a live Raw [on TV]. After the show, he just walked around slapping hands with the fans. I don’t have any extra stories regarding John, but I can say I still enjoyed myself.
